"I love your babies, they are so unique. I have 2 in my collection, and can't wait to get more!!"
Welcome to Enchanted Moments Nursery. My name is Sarah Mellman. I am the artist behind Enchanted Moments Nursery. Enchanted Moments Nursery is a "family" business. I am the mother of five wonderful children ages 8 to 17. My oldest two daughters Brooklyn (17) and Anna (14) and my 12-year-old son Ian are learning to reborn with me. You can see their work in my reborn galleries. I let my younger children work with me as well. They love helping to make bracelets, tutus, and hair accessories. Needless to say, I have a very busy life. There is always something being created in our home. I have set up a nursery for my children to sell their babies under. We've decided on the name Little Sprouts at Enchanted Moments Nursery. See the Little Sprouts link above to see their babies.
I love every aspect of my business. I love sculpting, reborning, sewing the clothes and costumes for my baby creations, crocheting hats and blankets, and finally, the photography that will share my creations with the world.
I chose to start this business in memory of my beloved mother. She was an amazing seamstress and taught me to sew. I got many of my talents from her. She adored babies. All the years I was growing up there was always a baby in our home. Friends, relatives--I'm sure she would have even cared for complete strangers' babies if she could! She collected beautiful baby dolls. She always wanted to learn to make reborn baby dolls. However, that was not to be. She passed away in May 2010 from Breast Cancer. So for me, combining all my talents in this fashion and making these breathtakingly beautiful reborn babies is my way of honoring and remembering my mother, and letting her legacy live on through my art.
I like to include my father in my dolls too. When he was younger he rescued an owl from an oil spill on the coast in California. He tried to help it and heal it but it was too sick... Sadly his efforts did not pay off. But since that time he collected owls. He called them Hooty Owls. When he passed away from brain cancer in October 1997 all seven of his children became owl collectors in his memory. So I try to add hooty owls to some of my dolls accessories.
The first reborn I ever made was Nylah Rose. You can see her portrait below. She will forever hold a special place in my heart. It was so special to me that the person who purchased her off eBay just happened to be a Hospice worker. Nylah is now a well-loved therapy baby for Hospice. That means a lot for me since my mother and father both used Hospice when they were dying from cancer. Hospice will always hold a special place in my heart for the services they rendered to my family in our times of need.
I have many babies that live in long term care/nursing homes as therapy babies for Alzheimer's and Dementia patients, bringing them back to a time they can remember and helping them make sense of a very confusing world. I have many beautiful Memory Babies that have helped many mothers heal from the loss of their own precious little ones. I have babies all over the world. I love what I do. Every baby I make is special and unique. They all have their own story!
I hope you enjoy looking at the beautiful and unique baby creations in my galleries. I am always adding new pictures to the Photo Gallery. Please come back often. If you would like emails when new babies are released please contact me and get on my email list.

There's Really Nothing Quite So Sweet As Little Baby Feet...
A Baby Is A Little Bit Of Heaven On Earth
I often get asked why people want reborns. To some people they are creepy and weird. To these people I try to explain that there are people who, for various reasons, can't have children and this is their way of easing the ache in their longing arms. Or others whose children have long grown up and they are lonely. Or others who have lost a child and are grieving. But there are some things you can't explain.
No, a reborn is NOT alive.
But that DOESN'T make them not real!
They are that perfect moment caught forever in time. A sleeping newborn. Or the gazing first looks of brand new eyes. The sweet innocence of childhood remembered.
I make reborns because I LOVE them. And through them I love people...
